Teddies Worldwide is hosting another online bear show this month. The show runes from 15th to the 17th July but previews will start on the 1st. 75 artists from 12 countries will participate.

Two Beautiful Original Hand Painted Teddy Bear Chairs By Bears On Old Wares In Bairnsdale Victoria are looking for a new home. These chairs have been used for displaying teddy bears only and will not be separated. The two are available for $120, or nearest offer.

Silvia Durrer is teaching a workshop on 7th March just after the Sydney Teddy Bear Fair. You have the choice of two bears Mungo or Misty. Visit the Sydney Teddy Bear Fair website for more information.

Mungo – 1-day Workshop

Mungo measures 20cm (8:) and is made from dark-tipped mohair. His face is extensively needle-sculpted and shaded. Mungo has a head joint only – his body is in one piece but fully armatured and the little tail finishes the look. He is filled with wool and designed to lie on his tummy.

The workshop will focus on the needle-sculpting and shading of the face and the construction of the body armature. No pre-sewing required. This bear requires basis bear making skills. If you are comfortable making a bear and would like to learn how to achieve these wonderful effects using advanced techniques – this is a workshop not to be missed!

Misty – 1-day workshop

Misty is a playful cub made from alpaca with ultra-suede paw pads. Her face is extensively needle-sculpted and painted and features glass eyes with eyelids, eyelashes and a beautifully embroidered nose. Her arms are armatured, her fingers are bendable and her paw pads are needle-sculpted and painted also. Misty has a double neck joint and a tummy insert, is 6-way cotter-pin jointed and filled with wool and glass beads to give her a lovely weight. She is designed to lie on her back with legs in the air.

Misty is ideal for the bear maker who is comfortable to make a bear but would like to learn different techniques and experience with needle-sculpting and shading.

There are a couple of online bear shows happening in the next few months. Lots of great artists are involved in these shows.  The first is the Teddy Bears and Critters Valentine Show on 11th – 14th  February.

The second is the Teddies Worldwide show on the 12th – 13th  March.
